Labware was founded in 1995 from an intuition and the courage to challenge existing technology in order to realize an innovative idea: replacing paper and pen for taking orders in restaurants with a handheld computer with radio transmission. All this when wireless handheld computers did not yet exist.

Today, we partner with businesses of all sizes, from small local establishments to large international companies. We are able to meet the needs of our customers and together we are always looking for the best solutions to manage every aspect of their work.

Sustainability and green policies

For Labware, the concept of sustainability is at the heart of every action and decision.

Labware is committed to green policies, placing increasing emphasis on issues such as consumption, saving, and recycling to ensure a better tomorrow.

 

We can divide the sustainable actions we take every day into two broad categories: internal actions for the company and employees, and actions toward customers.

Firstly, the company's infrastructure is managed using internal home automation systems that optimize energy consumption by maintaining constant humidity and heat levels within the offices, thereby avoiding waste.

In addition, we plan to install photovoltaic panels to reduce energy and electricity consumption.

Secondly, we have worked hard on our product packaging. Over time, we have made improvements that have significantly reduced the use of plastic and created outer packaging made from 100% recycled and recyclable paper. 

All our packaging complies with the most important certifications for paper recycling, such as:

  • Recyclable corrugated cardboard
  • Resy mark: guarantees that corrugated cardboard packaging meets the requirements for recovery by the Association of Secondary Raw Material and/or Waste Collectors and for recycling by the Association of Paper Mills. The RESY mark indicates that the raw material, paper, and cardboard are 100% recycled and recyclable.
  • Comieco: the National Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Cellulose-based Packaging
  • PAP 20: this is a recycling code according to Commission Decision 97/129/EC, which identifies the material as corrugated cardboard (in boxes used for packaging).

For the customer, the first action we took was to digital receipt. Since December 2022, digital receipts have been approved, allowing merchants to save on the use of thermal paper. All receipts are printed on thermal paper, which is treated with chemicals and therefore cannot be disposed of as paper waste. This makes us even more aware of the importance of reducing its use as a matter of priority.

 

Typically, a roll of thermal paper for receipts is 80 cm wide and 80 meters long and weighs 290 grams. An average receipt is about 15 cm long, so an 80-meter roll (=8000 cm) can produce 533 receipts, assuming consumption of one roll every two days. Considering that digital receipts save at least 50% of paper, one roll of paper would be used up in four days instead of two, with an average of 133 receipts printed per day instead of 266. 

In conclusion, we can say that in one year, the paper savings amount to approximately 46 kg. This is a significant figure.

TÜV is the leader in management system certification, one of the most qualified and authoritative bodies in Italy and beyond.

 

The ISO 9001 quality management system focuses on the quality process within the organization in order to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Its purpose is to demonstrate the ability to provide compliant products and/or services and thus increase customer satisfaction while improving your performance.

 

 

Our latest achievement is ISO 25051 of 2014, which establishes quality requirements for software design.
