Labware, leader in the POS solutions market for the hospitality and retail sectors, is pleased to announce that the company has won the Good Design™ Award 2017 in the Retail Fittings category.
The awards program by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design is the oldest and most prestigious competition worldwide, celebrating excellence in design and engineering.
Labware winning product – Papirus – is a highly innovative device which employs patent-pending technologies and represents an epic evolution for restaurant wireless ordering: it is the first hospitality handheld with a super e-paper multitouch color display, automatically operating in dual-mode (in-/outdoor) for optimal readability in any lighting conditions, even in direct sunlight.
Papirus boasts other unique features such as the ultra-light and ultra-strong Magnesium unibody housing, a fast and ingenious authentication mechanism (patent-pending Waiter ID Lock) and an extraordinary battery life, up to one week.
The device integrates Industrial Wireless Long Range technology, providing extra coverage up to 400m outdoor, noise immunity and the lowest power consumption rate, overcoming today’s challenges related to wireless ordering.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious recognition” says Labware Managing Director Paolo Pagnanini, “which confirms our commitment to innovative products and effective design. A vision of the future has always been the driving force of our projects, based on our original inspiration and on the fruits of our research, and all our products embody the technology of tomorrow”.
Labware is showcasing its new Papirus handheld at the EuroCIS trade fair in Düsseldorf and at the Retail Business Technology Expo in London.
